Pumpkin collection 2023
Together with our partners the Riverview Park Community Association and Foodsharing Ottawa, OSEAN is proud to present the 5th annual edition of Pumpkins for the Planet (formerly called Pumpkins for Pigs).
Help us combat food inscurity and food waste in Ottawa by diverting pumpkins destined for the compost. Intact pumpkins will be used by eight Ottawa Food Centres to make nutritious fall-inspired meals for their clients. Carved pumpkins will be distributed to local farms.
We’ll be collecting pumpkins on Novebmer 1st and 2nd in neighbourhoods in Ottawa South, and until November 5th at our main “Pumpkin Alley” at Ernie Calcutt Park near Mooney’s Bay. Please visit our Pumpkins for the Planet page to see neighbourhood collection locations.
